Accessibility (from the airport/ train station/ by road)
Szczecin’s local airport is 40 minutes from the city centre, and Berlin’s airport is 130 km or 2 hours away by car. We will arrange transfers for delegates from Berlin or Szczecin airports.
The Radisson hotel in Szczecin is a 10 minute taxi ride from the Szczecin railway station.
Public transport - tram and bus station – is available in front of the hotel.
Accommodation and travel
Economy class travel to Szczecin and three nights’ accommodation at the Radisson in Szczecin will be funded through an EC Framework 6 grant. Upon receiving an invitation to the conference, delegates will be asked to complete a registration form indicating whether or not they are able to attend, as well as proposed dates of travel.
Travel will be arranged centrally, and we will contact delegates after receiving the registration form with a proposed travel itinerary. As our budget is limited, extra nights of accommodation or travel upgrades will need to be supported by local funding. We would be happy to discuss this with delegates at the time of arranging their travel.
Bank Services and Money Matters
The nearest bank and cash machines are 50m from the hotel at the Pazim Centre. The official currency of Poland is the zloty (PLN), which is divided in to 100 groszy (gr). Follow this link http://www.xe.com/ to access The XE.com Universal Currency Converter.
Money can be exchanged either at the hotel or, for better exchange rates, at many exchange offices in the centre.
Cancellation
Except under exceptional circumstances, we kindly request that notice of cancellation be given at least 2 weeks before the date of the conference so that a full refund can be obtained and places re-allocated.
Car Parking
The hotel provides a 24-hour security-controlled indoor car-park.
Certificate of Attendance
Confirmation of attendance can be obtained from the registration desk.
Cloak Room and Luggage Storage
Cloak room and luggage storage will be provided at the Radisson Hotel.
Coffee Break and Lunch
There will be regular breaks during which coffee, tea, mineral water, fruit juice and French pastries will be provided free of charge. A buffet lunch will also be served, free of charge, each day.

Eating out in Szczecin

Electricity Supply
Voltage - 230V, 50 Hz. The same plugs are used as in the rest of Continental Europe.

We request that delegates organise their own travel and health insurance for their trip to Szczecin.

Language
The official language of Poland is Polish, although English is a commonly spoken second language.
Lunch and Refreshments
A buffet lunch will be served, free of charge, each day. There will also be regular breaks during which coffee, tea, mineral water, fruit juice and French pastries will be provided.
Passport and Visas
Passport holders from EU countries, the US, and Australia do not require a Visa to travel to Poland, for stays of up to 90 days. Passport holders from other areas of the world should check with their Polish embassy regarding Visa requirements before they travel.

Participation in the IMPACT conference is by invitation only; please contact the IMPACT coordinator for more information.
We would like to welcome expressions of interest from genetics and urology specialists working in Eastern Europe and other areas of the world, who are interested in attending the IMPACT conference, and potentially joining the IMPACT collaboration. Smoking Policy
Smoking is not allowed in offices. Smoking is permitted in restaurants and cafes etc (sometimes there are separate halls for smokers/non-smokers). Smoking is permitted at the hotel but not in the conference rooms. (Please note: non-smoking rooms are available upon request.)

Tipping
It is customary to tip 10% in Poland. Tipping is not obligatory.
